Konstantin Josseliani: Who Will Come Out Ahead in the AI Era
H1 2026: AI is becoming mainstream, but clients aren’t leaving LSPs — the very format of collaboration is changing. What does this mean for the industry? Konstantin Josseliani shares his analysis and vision.
In the first half of 2026, we saw a further acceleration of the trends reshaping the language services industry. AI is becoming mainstream, increasingly replacing traditional translation workflows and being actively adopted by both clients and language service providers.
At the same time, we see no indication that clients are abandoning language service providers altogether. What is changing significantly is the nature of that relationship. In the past, the primary role of an LSP was to deliver high‑quality translations of large volumes of content. Today, the focus is shifting toward quality assurance, linguistic expertise and consulting, terminology management, and AI‑related services.
The role of an LSP is therefore to become a trusted partner and expert for its clients: supporting them throughout their AI transformation and helping establish the right balance between the adoption of advanced technologies, quality assurance, and the management of the risks that inevitably accompany the use of AI.
Another clear area of opportunity for LSPs is the development and delivery of technological and operational solutions for content management. This is where language service providers can leverage their expertise to design solutions that are closely aligned with each client’s specific requirements. Our Global Technology Platform (GTP) has proven particularly successful in this role. I am pleased to note that several of our major clients have already moved their content management and localization processes entirely to Janus GTP.
In the current environment, the companies that succeed will be those that do not cling to traditional services, but instead adapt quickly to a transforming industry and evolving client expectations. Business growth has never come simply from optimizing and protecting existing positions. It comes from identifying and capturing the new opportunities created by industry change.
