Janus Worldwide Takes Part in LocWorld32 Montreal and tekom Conferences
Janus Worldwide has a long tradition of taking part in major industry events, and the LocWorld32 Montreal and tekom conferences held in October and November 2016 were no exception.
LocWorld32 was held from October 26th to 28th, 2016 in Montreal, Canada. LocWorld occurs three times a year and is always a significant event for the translation and localization industry. The event’s exhibitors included key industry players, the media, associations, independent research firms, and software developers, and the event featured representatives from well-known companies such as Facebook, IBM, Adobe Systems, Mozilla and Microsoft.
Speeches on the LocWorld32 Montreal program focused on the following themes: Advanced Localization Management, Inside Track, Community, Keynote, Content Strategy, Translation Automation, Global Business, Technical, Unconference, and Language Service Providers.
Attending LocWorld32 was a great opportunity not only to listen to speakers’ presentations, take part in round tables and discussions, exchange opinions on important industry issues, and significantly expand our professional knowledge, but also to network with colleagues in informal settings during the conference opening and gala dinner.
“Janus Worldwide sponsored the event in Montreal, a great location in which to host Localization World and a fantastic mix of people brought together through one common passion or interest. Over the course of the two main conference days, there were some interesting discussions and powerful, motivating keynotes from industry leaders. The main theme of Engaging Global Customers was very fitting given the struggles to localize and engage on a global scale that many clients and industries are facing these days, and there were some powerful insights from big names such as IBM, Dell EMC, and Adobe to name but a few,” noted Steve Higgins, Janus Worldwide’s Director of Business Development.
“LocWorld is always a great place to meet new people and engage further with clients and prospects: the informal networking events and breaks in sessions provide the perfect opportunity to get to know people and find out about both hot topics on clients’ minds, and the opportunities that are out there for LSPs such as Janus Worldwide right now.”
The tekom yearly conference, in turn, was held from November 8th to 10th, 2016 in Stuttgart, Germany. The conference, along with its eponymous industry market and tcworld conference, is one of the largest and most popular events in the technical communications sector. Almost all players on the market attended the event, from the newest to the best-known companies, as well as software developers and various service providers, including translation and localization services. The number of participants at the event continues to grow with each passing year and now stands at several thousand people. It attracts an international audience.
The tekom conference provides unique, truly exclusive content from recognized industry experts that are not available on the Internet, informative presentations on real themes related to Tool Presentation, lively discussions during the Technology Panel that offered something for everyone, excellent opportunities for dialog, and poignant conversations with experts and event participants from various countries and areas of activity. Moreover, this was a chance to look at the industry market and get to know the latest developers and industry solutions, which are set to genuinely expand horizons for market players for the foreseeable future.
LocWorld and tekom are excellent information and communication platforms that provide an opportunity to become familiar with the latest technologies, tools, and solutions, talk about ourselves and our own innovations such as the Janus Global Technology Platform, present our ideas, speak with industry colleagues, clients, and partners, and exchange opinions about real and pressing issues. Janus Worldwide is always delighted to participate in such informative, useful events, both as a visitor and as an exhibitor and proactive sponsor.
