QUALITY ASSURANCE

Quality is the most important factor in a project’s success. Janus Worldwide takes a very responsible approach to this issue: all projects undergo multi-stage automated and semi-automated quality assurance procedures. Various checks are performed on terminology, tagging, layout, compliance with regional standards, and more. They all serve the same purpose: to ensure that the final materials meet high quality standards. Janus Worldwide’s experts guarantee a result that exceeds your expectations.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

In accordance with international standards, all translation projects handled by our company are subject to a multi-level quality check and localization testing, which is why we can guarantee high-quality services. Our proven approach is systematic, consistent, scalable and adaptable to the specific needs of the project, ensuring that the quality of translation delivered is exceptional. In accordance with our ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17100:2015 certified process, all translation projects undergo multi-layer check and review procedures to ensure that we provide an accurate translation. Multilingual QA involves the following procedures:

  • Formal checks (e.g. empty content, untranslated text)
  • Tags check
  • Terminology check using a termbase or the customer’s glossaries
  • Consistency and reverse consistency check
  • Punctuation check
  • Numbers check
  • Check for compliance with regional standards
  • UI references compliance check
  • DTP layout check
  • Screenshots/localization testing (if necessary)

We implement a range of semi-automated and automated quality assurance procedures at various phases of a project’s development. To automate the process, a variety of quality assurance localization tools are utilized, and linguists and testers manage and verify our process.

TESTING SERVICES INCLUDE:
Linguistic and language validation testing, functional software testing, localization testing for user interfaces.

LINGUISTIC VALIDATION

Our senior in-country and native-speaker linguistic testers review your materials for translation accuracy and cultural appropriateness for the intended market. This step is performed once the first build of your software is available and any issues found will be entered into issue-tracking software. The linguistic validation process includes verification against glossaries, style guides and existing translations. Language validation continues in planned steps until the final product is achieved, ensuring all issues are resolved.

FUNCTIONAL TESTING OF SOFTWARE

QA functional testing is a complex process with many moving parts and complexities, and problems that are not always foreseen before the end product is compiled and viewed in its intended form. Our engineers verify that the localization process has not introduced defects into the software that alter or break the application’s functionality.

USER INTERFACE TESTING

Engineers systematically comb the user interface of your localized product looking for encoding errors, which produce garbage characters, text truncation, dynamic re-sizing issues, graphic display problems, formatting errors, untranslated text and items that are not culturally acceptable in the target market. Our collaboration platform means that we are able to work seamlessly, allowing our engineers to identify issues and work with native-speaker, in-country teams to fix, rebuild and re-check the issue before final delivery.

The combination of automated quality assurance tools and obligatory editing by qualified experts enables us to maintain a top-quality standard without affecting either affordability or delivery times.
