The ranking was prepared by Nimdzi, a company that specializes in localization and language services market research and provides consulting services to market players. Companies are rated based on prior-year profits. Janus Worldwide came in at number 62 with profits of USD 20 million.

The Nimdzi ranking included companies whose profits in the last fiscal year amounted to at least USD 10 million, with profits from linguistic services accounting for at least 50% of this number. The ranking’s authors categorize a wide spectrum of services as “linguistic services,” such as translation, transcreation, multilingual desktop publishing, quality control, linguistic testing, multilingual copywriting, interpreting, remote video interpreting, multimedia localization, dubbing, linguistic consulting, and others. According to the Nimdzi study, the language services market is worth approximately USD 50 billion. By the end of 2022, the market is forecast to grow to USD 66.53 billion. It is expected that the average market growth rate over the next five years will be 7.4%.
