The multimedia department implemented an urgent Android OS mobile device application test project
Tuesday, 20 May 2014 10:38

On the day before May Day, Janus media specialists implemented an extremely urgent and complex project.

The objective was to make a voice recording to test a voice recognition application. It was necessary to make the recording using a special application on an Android OS mobile device, version 4.2 or above. The total recording time is 80 hours.

Only one day was allocated to perform the work.

As a matter of urgency, 50 candidates were assigned to fulfil the task, of whom, the 20 best were selected. Technical support was organized for them. If for any reason one of 20 employees selected could not continue, he/she was promptly replaced by an employee from the original resource pool. Despite the fact that the last employee was approved early in the first hour of the night, he was able to finish the work on time and handed in the material within the deadline specified by the customer.

Thus, thanks to the highly efficient work of our experts, the project was handed in precisely on time and in accordance with all the customer’s technical requirements.

Janus has been certified in accordance with the EN 15038:2006-05 standard
Thursday, 08 May 2014 15:30

In April, Janus successfully passed certification in accordance with the EN 15038:2006-05 standard.

The EN 15038:2006-05 standard entered into force on 1 August, 2006. Its development was initiated in 1999 by the European Union of Associations of Translation Companies (EUATC). Thus, EN 15038:2006 is the first quality standard developed especially for translation service providers designed to promote changes in work principles in the industry. EN 15038:2006 was the world's first global quality standard, clearly defining requirements for translation service providers (TSP).

The standard lists the basic terms related to translation activity. It contains the general requirements for translation services providers (requirements for executors and technical resources). The standard also considers general rules of relationships between the client and translation services provider, and the translation procedure, etc.

Following the audit, the auditor noted the high level of staff training and "maturity" of processes. According to the audit report, not a single deviation from the standard was ascertained. The auditor also provided valuable advice on further optimization of our processes.
