Authors of the best translations were offered a month-long paid practical training in Janus offices.

Moscow college students Ekaterina Lavrentyeva and Anna Kuzmenko (Higher School of Translation and Interpreting) had a chance to work in our Moscow office, in the General and IT Translation Departments. Mironova Yana (LUNN) joined our German Department in the Nizhny Novgorod office.

The all-expense paid trainings included:

Working as translators, our new colleagues had an opportunity to:

  • Translate marketing and technical files from English and German into Russian and vice versa, using Trados
  • Fulfill technical project linguistic requirements
  • Use advanced Trados functions, like Tag Editor, export file-based TM creation, and other project-based customization
  • Assist in fulfilling the needs of long-term, technically complex projects, including working on the customer’s remote desktop, Multiterm glossary creation; TM-glossary connection, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Collaborate with colleagues and managers on all technical and linguistic issues and share their experience

During the training, students were provided the opportunity to study hands-on, the production processes of translation and localization. Access to many industries, including IT, oil gas, manufacturing and automotive were available; with CAT tool and technical terminology know-how emphasized.
